Anyone who has fond memories is welcome to attend whether they attended the Lab School or not. There is no charge for the event which will include refreshments provided by BHSU alumni.

Our program includes a DVD of memories such as the Maypole celebration. Dr Charles Schad will MC and provide a history of the LAB school written by Paul Higbee. Dr Schad and former Lab School student, Norm Edwards are handling publicity locally. Terry Stephens, Julie Weidensee Pechota, and Sue Fulleton have coordinated logistics, with assistance from the BHSU alumni office. Special guests include Ralph McLaughlin and Victor Weidensee, former teachers. Former student teachers and BH faculty have been invited. Approximately 100 have already registered.

Sue Fulleton and myself are organizing a Lab School Reunion that is going to be held on July 1, 2011 at the Black Hills State Library.  It will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 pm  so as not to conflict with the SHS reunion that evening.  We are looking to get the word out to all  Lab School Alums  and their families and , of course, anyone else that would like to attend. Please check facebook for updates and the SHS reunion website for information.

Please email Julie or Sue  if you need more information and/or to please let us know if you plan to attend and how many people.  We only need this information to give to BH as they are graciously supplying the cookies and drinks. We  also need to make sure the room will be big enough to host the crowd.

We have asked that old photographs be sent to Sue in a JPEG file. Memorabilia may be brought to the Reunion. We are encouraging participants to register for the All School Reunion and then come to the college for our mini-Reunion. The attendees could then go to the first All School Reunion evening social at the Holiday Inn.

This event is open to former classmates, teachers, friends, student
teachers, and anyone else who might be interested. We have posted this on Facebook as an event. There is no charge for the event. Feel free to "friend" me on Facebook so you can keep tabs on the event from that aspect. Any assistance you could give us by adding the Lab School Reunion event information to the All School Reunion promotion would be most appreciated. We will have an exact location at Black Hills State in February. Feel free to contact me if you have additional questions.

Lastly, please pass this information on to anyone you know who attended the Lab School.  We need to get the word out to teachers, friends, Lab school attendees.  I think it should be great fun.
